If an employee should not be paid for certain work, use payroll tags to exclude them from payroll. For example, you can exclude an owner who teaches classes or an employee working in exchange for a membership.
To exclude an employee, navigate to Payrates > search for the employee > Edit Tags.
Select one or more of the following and save:
Class Instruction Pay Disabled: Excludes any pay for instructing a class.
Appointment Pay Disabled: Excludes any pay for an appointment.
Front Desk Pay Disabled: Excludes any pay based on clocking in and out.
Sales Commission Pay Disabled: Excludes any pay for being the broker on a sale.
One-Time using Payroll Processing
If you want to exclude an employee from payroll for one payroll run only and are using Payroll Processing, run payroll and, on the Payroll Preview page, unselect the employee before continuing.
This excludes them from the current payroll without affecting future payrolls.
