Challenges are used to motivate customers to participate in studio-wide activities.

To create a studio Challenge, navigate to Gamification within Xplor Growth > Challenges > New Challenge.

Challenge Type

Select the Challenge Type. The Challenge Types include:

  • Basic Challenge: Specify class count and filters to complete this challenge

  • Class Type Based: Encourage customers to try a range of class types

  • Locations Based: Encourage customers to try multiple locations

  • Instructors Based: Encourage your customers to try multiple instructors

Class Type, Locations, and Instructor Based are currently in beta and are expected to be generally available soon.

Based on the Challenge Type, different filters are available to specify how the customer must complete the challenge.

Challenge Details

Input your Challenge details into the provided fields. These fields will be available for all Challenge Types.

  • Challenge Name: Will be displayed to customers within the mobile app

    • If the Challenge will be filtered for a specific location, we recommend adding the location to the Title

  • Description: Will be displayed to customers when signing up for the Challenge

    • This should include any filtering that has been applied, such as Class Types, Location, or Instructor.

  • Start and End Date: When the Challenge will start and end

    • There are no limitations on how long a Challenge runs

  • Challenge Cover Image: Will be displayed in your mobile app

    • Dimensions are 392x220 (16:9 aspect ratio) and the size is < 2 MB

  • Progress Design

    • Punch Cards provide a more visual progress-tracking experience. We recommend using this for Challenges with 20 or fewer classes.

    • Progress bar tracking is an efficient method to track progress for large-scale Challenges

  • Include Leaderboard: Allow your customers to see their rank against other participants

Class Rules

Class Rules determine the Challenge objective. Here are the standard rule options:

  • # of Classes: How many classes a customer must take to complete the Challenge

  • Challenge Class Types: Filter that specifies which classes count towards the Challenge

    • If none are selected, all Class Types will be included in the Challenge

  • Challenge Location: Filter that specifies which location classes count towards the Challenge

    • If none are selected, all location classes will be included in the Challenge

    • The Challenge Location Filter does not restrict which location can see the challenge in the mobile app. The Challenge will be displayed for all locations.

  • Challenge Instructor: Filter that specifies which instructors' classes count towards the Challenge

    • If none are selected, all instructors' classes will be included in the Challenge

Class Type, Instructor, and Location Challenges

If your Challenge requires customers to meet more than one condition, use the Add Rule button to include multiple criteria. This is required when creating Challenges that involve different class types, instructors, or locations.

Here is an example if your Challenge requires 3 Power Yoga, 3 Deep Stretch, and 4 Flow classes.

The Display Title is optional unless selecting multiple criteria. If using multiple Class criteria, all options will display on the mobile app.

Use the Display Title to shorten. For ex., instead of "Yoga flow, Yoga Core, Yoga Hot Flow," it could be “Any Yoga Class” or “Yoga Practices."

Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility Requirements require customers to purchase a specific membership (active or pending), credit package, or product to join the Challenge.

Eligibility Requirements are currently in beta and are expected to be generally available soon.

If you wish to use one of each, it will be an OR statement. At this time, it can't be one object AND another. For example, you could have Standard Membership or a 10 Credit Pack. It can't be Standard Membership AND a 10 Credit Pack.

If the customer does not meet the requirements, they will need to move to the Buy Page and purchase before enrolling.

Incentives

Customers can receive an automated incentive upon completing the Challenge. The options include:

  • Credit Type: Can select multiple

    • Choose Credit Type

    • Total Credits

    • Expiration Date: We recommend setting the date far into the future, as we don't support dynamic dates based on the Challenge Completion

  • Account Balance

    • Every currency will be displayed, and the Account Balance will be given in the currency of the customer’s home location

Save and Publish

After making your Challenge, click Save to create it within Xplor Growth. When you are ready for the Challenge to be viewable within your mobile app, click Publish.

Multi-location Studios

If you have multiple locations and create a challenge that includes more than one location, when a customer logs on to any included location, they will see the ability to join the challenge. There is no need to set up the challenge at each location.
