Custom Email Domain Authentication

Major email providers like Google and Yahoo have announced a domain-based message authentication requirement for anyone sending emails, this includes any business using Xplor Growth.

The change encourages more secure standards regarding bulk email sends to reduce the spam threshold and for a better customer experience.

What You Need to Do

You will need to set up DMARC authentication for your sending domain in your DNS provider which may require assistance from your web developer as steps vary by provider.

We've teamed up with IPStudio to offer all Xplor Growth clients an authentication service for $29. They've also provided this handy reference guide for demystifying DMARC policies.

If you complete your authentication manually, follow the detailed instructions below for the recommended DMARC rollout.

First, you'll need to contact our Xplor Growth Support team to request the necessary values to complete the authentication and confirm the sending domain you wish to use.

Feel free to use the following template:

"Hi Xplor Growth team,

I'd like to get started with authenticating my sending domain, can you kindly generate the necessary TXT records for my web developer to install? We'd like to authenticate the domain using [insert domain here]."

Only one authenticated domain is needed if you have multiple accounts using the same domain. If you have multiple email domains you wish to send from, eg xplorgrowth.com or xplorgrowthsales.com you will need to verify both domains.

How to Setup DMARC:

  1. Log in to your DNS hosting provider's management console.

  2. Find the page to add a DNS TXT record.

  3. Select the TXT Record Type.

  4. Enter _dmarc as the Host Value.

  5. Enter the DMARC record you acquired from IPStudio or another provider in the TXT Value box.

  6. Save the DMARC record.

  7. Validate the DMARC setup.

Once you've set up your DMARC, please let Support know so we can complete the authentication.


What if No Action is Taken?

Without DMARC authentication, emails from your Xplor Growth account will appear from an Xplor Technologies no-reply email, rather than your domain. You must complete the necessary steps by the July 1st, 2024 deadline to ensure your communications are properly sent from your brand and domain!
