When a phone number is added to a contact in Xplor Growth, it undergoes a verification process to confirm it can receive SMS messages. Understanding these verification states can help you identify which contacts are eligible for SMS communication.
Verification statuses appear next to the customer's phone number on their XG account:
Verification Statuses
Unverified
Unverified is the default status for all newly added phone numbers. This status means the phone number has been added to the contact record but has not yet gone through the SMS verification process. The number is not necessarily invalid. It simply means no SMS has been sent or scheduled yet.
Valid
A Valid status indicates that the phone number has been successfully verified and can receive SMS messages. Once verification is complete, Xplor Growth recognizes the number as capable of receiving SMS communications.
Invalid
An Invalid status indicates that the phone number could not receive an SMS message during verification. This may happen if the number is entered incorrectly, disconnected, or unable to receive SMS messages. If a number is marked as invalid, review the contact's phone number and update it if necessary.
When Does Verification Occur?
Phone number verification is triggered automatically the first time an SMS message is sent or scheduled for a contact.
