How do I remove contacts from an Automation?

There are three ways to remove contacts from an automation:

  • From the contact's profile

  • Remove from Automation Button (Most Common)

    • This method is best for campaign auditing and updating enrollment conditions when contacts need to be removed immediately and in bulk, but may re-enroll in the future if they meet the new criteria.

  • Tagging Contacts & Setting a New Exit Goal: Ideal for removing contacts in these scenarios:

    • They do not meet any current exit goals and would otherwise continue to receive irrelevant marketing emails.

    • They request to be removed from a specific communication, but do not want to unsubscribe from all marketing messages.

From the Contact's Profile

In a contact's profile, click Automations > the three-dot icon next to the automation > Remove from Automation.

Confirm the removal and select one of the following options:

  • Remove from automation now but allow re-entry if they meet the rules in the future

  • Remove from automation now and prevent the customer from future automated re-entry

Remove from Campaign Button

Go to Marketing Automation > Automation > click on the correct Automation. On the Automation dashboard, click All Time Enrollments. Check each contact you wish to remove and click Remove from Automation.

Tagging Contacts & Setting a New Exit Goal

If you do not have a Tag, it can be created under Settings > Assets > Tags.

Next, create an exit rule within the Automation using the Has an Xplor Growth Tag condition. In the Automation, click Edit next to Do you want to automatically remove contacts if they meet one or more goals? and create a custom rule for the Tag.

HQ Accounts will need to sync changes to child accounts.

Contacts will be removed from the automation after setting the changes live, and will not be eligible to re-enroll
