Do customers point reset at the end of the earning cycle for my loyalty program?

Earning Cycle is based on the calendar year, and once completed, several things will occur:

  • Points will reset to 0

  • The status they earned for the current cycle will remain for the next cycle

    • As they earn points in the next cycle, customers will receive any benefits from lower tiers along the way.

For example, your 2025 program is set annually:

  • The customer earned Gold status in 2025.

  • In January 2026, the customer's points return to 0, but they retain the Gold status for the entire year.

  • In 2026, it takes 100 points to earn Silver and 200 for Gold.

    • When the customer hits 100 points, they earn all the benefits from the Silver tier but keep Gold status.

      • They have enough points to guarantee at least Silver status in 2027.

    • When they hit 200 points, they earn all the benefits from the Gold status.

      • They are guaranteed Gold status in 2027.
