In short, promotional information should not be included in transactional messaging.

The purpose of transactional messaging is to provide pertinent client information based off of their actions (i.e. purchase, reservation confirmation, new account creation, password reset, etc.). In addition, all clients will receive transactional messaging regardless of marketing opt in preferences. Thus, adding promotional messaging to these templates would violate consent for clients who are opted out of marketing communications.
