When sending yourself a test transactional email, the variables that are triggered by a transaction in your business management system (BMS) do not exist. Therefore, there will be what appear as blank or empty sections of the email.

A good example of this is if you send yourself a test email for a purchase confirmation—because no items were actually purchased, you can expect that there will be no line items, total amount, etc.
